Nantucket
Hi,

I checked the Ferry from Harwich to Nantucket and at the time we'll be there, June 17th thru 23rd, it only runs once to and once back daily. That means I would only have from 10:30 til 3:30 on the Island. We only planned it as a day trip, but 5 hours seems short. Does anyione know if there are any tours that would fit this schedule? Is the trip still worth it or is there too much to see in that amount of time? Thanks.

I think it's worth it. I took a taxi around the island and had a good time. Sconset is a good destination for a picturesque place, and the shops are right near the ferry dock if that interests you. The ferry ride is part of the fun.

The first time we went to Nantucket, we had a similar amount of time. You'll have plenty of time to wander all about "Nantucket Town", shop, and have a leisurely lunch. We even took the bus tour all over the island. If you'll have a car, though, you can always drive 20 minutes to Hyannis, where there are more ferry trips scheduled.

Scared you, didn't I? ;-)

Huh? Why would you take the ferry from Harwich? Take the ferry from Hyannis. There are 2 lines running, the Hyline and the Steamship Authority. They start very early in the a.m. and continue 'til late at night. There are ferries running all day long, almost hourly. Drive to Hyannis and take the ferry from there, you'll be able to spend a full day sightseeing that way. You could spend 12 hours there instead of 5.

Thanks for the info. The Steamship Authority from Hyannis looks like the way to go. I noticed on the other posting you talk about the fast ferry, which definately looks like the best. Thanks again.
