myrtle beach oct 20-23
The three of us sisters in our fifties are going to Myrtle Beach and were wondering what shows/attractions are a must see. We are going to go to a concert so music so a music attraction is not what we are interested in. Any ideas?
|
Most of the shows in Myrtle Beach are musical, but have lots of dancing with them also. The show at the Alabama Theater has always been one of our favorites. I've also heard wonderful feedback about Dixie Stampede.
There are lots of new huge shopping areas, but my favorite will always be Barefoot Landing. This is a complex of cape-cod looking shops on a boardwalk surrounded by water. It is always serene and nice. |
Thank you! Do you have any favorite seafood, or Italian restaurants?

Non-music attractions:
Brookgreen Gardens, about 30 minutes south of MB on Highway 17. http://www.brookgreen.org/ Seafood Restaurants: Almost any in Murrells Inlet (about 20 minutes south of MB on Business 17) In MB: Flamingo Grill is great (try the seared tuna); Bonefish Grill is a chain, but a good one; Sea Captain's House for the lunch special and the ocean-front view; Thoroughbred's is just a great all-around restaurant, as is Collector's Cafe. SeaBlue is a great seafood tapas restaurant in NMB. Italian: Benny Rapa's in North Myrtle Beach; Old World Italian on 17 By-Pass near Murrells Inlet; Rossi's is big and popular (we've had decent meals there, but like the other two small, neighborhood trattoria type restaurants better). I've heard good things about Villa Tuscana in NMB but have only sampled some good appetizers from them at a festival. |
Italian = Rossi's in the Galleria shopping center on the main drag. It's not open on Sunday's. Another great dining choice is Thoroughbreds just down from Rossi's. It is the best fine dining in Myrtle Beach IMO. Have a great time.

North of MB in Little River try the Parsons Table.

I agree with SAnParis about Parson's Table in Little River, very nice.
And this just in . . . another Italian restaurant to consider is Ciao on Kings Highway in MB. Formerly Luigi's (in the same space, different owners). Mrs Beach Dweller had lunch there yesterday and said it's a garlic-lovers dream. |
