Myrtle Beach Lodging Not Top Notch, but Not A Dump
 

Hi,

I am looking for lodging in Myrtle Beach for myself and husband for four nights the fourth week in June. I wanted to stay at Kingston Plantation, but rates start at $350, and that is way too expensive for me. Here is what I am looking for: on the ocean, one bedroom, kitchen (not just microwave and small fridge). I want something clean, comfortable, spacious, with furnishings that are not worn and outdated. I guess I am willing to pay around $200 a night. Please let me know if there is something that would fit my requirements. Thanks.

Bingo! Try the Beach Cove. You can get an ocean front 1 BR suite with said amenities for $179.00 per night. We stayed there and it is very nice and is across the street from BArefoot landing, a shop/restaurant complex. Try: www.beachcove.com

If you want something along the main strand I would suggest the LandMark. Not sure of the rates, but my aunt and her family just got back and loved it. Right on the beach. Their room had a separate bedroom, kitchen and living area and balcony. Also, try to the Crown Reef or Coral Beach.

You might want to check out the Best Western Carolinian. My boyfriend and I have stayed there the past 2 years and like it - and we've reserved again for a trip this summer. It's not fancy, but not a dump and we didn't need all the extra amenities a lot of the resorts have like lazy rivers, restaurants, etc so it worked perfectly. I know they recently opened a new tower, but I think it's all suites, so you'll probably end up in the old part of the hotel we've stayed in. Last year we had an oceanfront room with a kitchenette. I think it's at 25th? and N. Ocean Drive, which is in Myrtle about a 5-7 minute drive from Broadway at the Beach and not far from the Pavilion.

i have been going to the beach for years dont waste your money on the landmark the summer wind on south end is good place to stay big isnt always better
