Myrtle Beach Hotels

Never been to Myrtle Beach before .. thinking of Patricia Grand, Yachtsman, Coral Beach Resort, and Crown Reef Resort for hotels. Anyone have any comments on any of these ? And does anyone know which would be closest for walking distance to Broadway on the Beach ? Thanks for your help !
I have only been to Myrtle Beach once, but I can tell you that we stayed at Patricia Grand and it was a disappointment. Too big and the rooms were marginal. Broadway at the Beach is not within walking distance from the beach, so you would have to choose whether you want to be on the ocean or there. There are hotels at Broadway at the Beach, but I would recommend staying on the beach and driving over. Hope this helps!

I just found this website today, because we're planning Myrtle Beach in March also! I have and old AAA book, and talked to a gazillion hotels today down there. Some of the 3 Diamond properties were:carolina winds, myrtl beach martinique resort and hotel, beach colony resort, crown reef resort, meridian plaza, caribbean resort and villas, caravelle resort.
The Coral Beach also, the Yachtsman must be newer, my book is old. (Sorry about lower case before, typing with one hand!) I was amazed that the rates for the end of March ranged from $55.00 to $90.00. I was expecting much higher. If you need any 800 phone numbers, e-mail me. Be sure to put the topic in the e-mail, or I'll delete it!

JMHO, but I would check into condos in Mrytle Beach. There are tons of companies and most have lovely oceanfront and oceanview properties.

You may book a condo through Condoworld. The best condo is Maison sur Mer unit #l04 - its beautiful but does not face ocean but rather to the back of the building - lots of security not that I ever felt it was needed. I paid in the vicinity of l50 dollars 2 years ago. Hope this is of help to you.
Also, I have stayed at Beach Colony - very nice and Carribean which is moderately priced but right on the beach and clean.

Forget the Coral Reef, huge dissapointment...we like the SAND DUNES It is located on the beach..you can visit their web site for more info..As for walking to Broadway on the beach..I think there is a Fairfield or Hampton inn close..but it's not on the beach

You either have to choose between a hotel on the beach or one at Broadway at the Beach. Where are you going to spend most of your time? We prefer Broadway at the Beach. The hotel right on the premises is the Hampton Inn. There are several hotels across the street, but let me warn you, they're very large, busy streets. Good luck.

Stay at Ocean Creek in North Myrtle Beach. It is right across the street from Barefoot Landings which is very similar to Broadway at the Beach. You can walk across the street and this is the best part of Myrtle Beach.

The Patricia Grand is very nice, but very huge. We love the Forest Dunes.Even if you dont stay at Patricia Grand, go to their resturaunt on the second floor for breakfast. Very nice.

We have stayed at Coral Beach and Long Bay up near 74th North. Both are very nice resorts. Coral Beach was recently purchased by Patricia Grand Resorts and underwent over $3 million in renovations. It is only about 10 years old regardless. I think you win either way.

We are heading down in four weeks and trying the Landmark. I'll report back.

just returned from Myrtle Beach on Thursday night and stayed at the Martinique. All the rooms face the ocean and we were on the 11th floor which provided a great view. All the rooms also have patios.
We went on a golf package so I don't know what the cost was but the room was OK. Nothing fancy but fairly large, clean and they provided a nice buffet breakfast in the morning. The lobby has a very, very strong smell of chlorine, as the pool is indoor and very close to the entrance. Try Tonys Italian restaurant for really good shrimp scampi over angel hair pasta. Really good!

Julie, my parents have made annual trips to Myrtle Beach for the past 15 years or so and have always stayed at the Carribbean. It was renovated a few years ago because of one of the hurricanes that hit there. It's right on the ocean and from the comments they've made, they've always been pleased.

Hi. Has anyone stayed at Long Bay Resort? Is it a nice place? We are planning to stay there in August with another family. We'll have 5 kids with us. Is the pool area nice? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Last year we stayed at Kingston Plantation and are returning this year. It is the nicest place to stay in Myrtle Beach. Period. It is in the Northern tip of Myrtle Beach which is less crowded and less tacky. The property is huge, gated and nicely landscaped and best of all they have a fantastic pool area with a mini waterpark which children will love. It can only be used by guests of Kingston Plantation. We looked at a lot of other resorts while we were there and none even came close, with the exception of Litchfield Plantation which is actually South of Myrtle Beach in Pawley's Island. We prefer the area to MB's (It is in a quieter and prettier area) but that waterpark just won the kids over, so we are returning to Kingston Plantation. Plus the condos are big, and we love the convenience of having a full size kitchen and multiple bathrooms with a family. Check out their website at Kingstonplantation.com.
