Myrtle Beach Golf in December?

We will be travelling to NC the first week of December to visit family, and have the opportunity to stay in Myrtle Beach for a couple of nights to play golf. I looked up weather history on Weather Underground and see the average high is 58 degrees, which seems nice. Not too much rain. Is this a good time to go golfing there? Am I missing anything? Thank you.

You can play golf 366 days a year in MB!!

I played there in Jan. once or twice. My memory of it was that it was a little chilly but tolerable, especially if you come from an area like the Northeast. I'm guessing early Dec. should be OK.

But keep in mind the temp you cited is the average **high**, not the average. So there's a fair chance you'll see temps in the low 50s or high 40s. Dress appropriately.

It can also be windy, but my favorite time for MB (when I lived near there) was always Nov through Feb. Unless there is a rain storm, you will see people playing golf in MB every day. Have a great time!

AND you can also have temps regularly in the 60s!!

Gretchen apparently is a volunteer for the MB Chamber of Commerce.

Ummm, I personally abhor Myrtle Beach per se, and haven't been in that city since I had to get DD's luggage about 10 years ago, but there isn't any reason not to give complete information to people asking. We own in Litchfield by the Sea and I recommend the OP take a look at courses down that way also. I think there are over 100 courses in the area.
Also, don't forget to eat some great seafood in Murrells Inlet, south of MB.

Average?--cool in morning and later evening--delightful midday?

I LOVE "dress appropriately". Such good advice. I'd never have thought of that. LOL

But in the course of full disclosure, several years ago we were at our place in February and had a REALLY cold snap--the lagoon at Litchfield skimmed with ice and the herons were standing on the ice pecking at their fish dinner!! We put on heavy coats and scarves that week. ;o)

December is still a good time to go golfing in Myrtle Beach. The weather can be quite nice throughout December.
