Myrtle Beach accomodations

Every year my husband and two kids, now 17 and 14, go away for a week in July. We've rented lakeside cottages and last year stayed in the Outer Banks. This year the kids want a place with more things to do. Myrtle Beach or North Myrtle Beach sound like they might be the place to go. I'd like some advice on places to stay. My requirements are
1. Must be 3 bedrooms, and though the place itself doesn't have to be beachfront I would like the resort to be.
2. I'd like a full service resort. One with an indoor pool, outdoor pool, and activties to participate in if we want.
3. Maybe a restaurant or coffee shop on the grounds and a beachfront bar would be nice.
4. A lot of the resorts look like highrises just stuck in the sand. I'd like place that is landscaped and pretty.
I know this is a lot for a last minute reservation, but I don't mind paying more for a place that is nice and everyone will enjoy. Any and all info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Kathy:
I recommend Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach. Part of the embassy suites chain. The are Villas with large bedrooms, kitchens, 2 baths, not right on the Beachfront but a short stroll away.
I suggest calling them directly at 845-449-0006. Have a great trip!

Kathy,

I second AC's recommendation for Kingston Plantation--it has all of the features you listed. A fairly close second would be Ocean CreeK resort (I don't have the number, but you may want to visit myrtlebeachlive.com anyway and can probably get it there). Both resorts are in North Myrtle Beach, which is a somewhat less crowded extension of Myrtle Beach. Lots of cool stuff to do in the area. One of the most unusual and exciting: a 30 minute ride along the coast in a vintage 1940 open cockpit bi-plane (cost $110 for two last Fall, may be higher in the summer, but 2 can fly basically for the price of 1). Broadway at the Beach (Highway 17 bypass in Myrtle Beach) has a Nascar go-kart park, IMAX, and a new aquarium. Lastly, the Alligator Adventure at Barefoot Landing in NMB was surprisingly good--you're up close & person (but safe) with a lot of alligators.

One last possiblity on a place to stay--Litchfield is supposed to be a very nice resort, but I've never stayed there because it is south of MB and feels a little isolated from restaurants etc.

Have fun!

try the forest dunes resort in Myrtle Beach. The rooms are beautiful, they have an indoor pool an outdoor pool a "lazy river" ride and the rooms are individually owned condos and are very reasonable. All this in a very nice area. Have a wonderful trip.

It on the ocean, 2 outdoor pools, 1 indoor, a lazy river with tubes, tennis work-out room, restaurants, and bars.. It was wonderful ro 4 teenagers and parents. I think it's wwhat your looking for.
