Myrtle Beach
I'm looking for a nice place to stay in Myrtle Beach for a weekend in mid-September.
My priorities are: 1) an upscale property 2) kitchen, possibly a suite, condo etc type of accommodation 3) near or on the beach I've never been there. Is there a boardwalk with shops, restaurants, attractions etc? Thanks |

Check out the condos through vrbo.com or CRS.com. You can go as low or as high end as you like. There are two very large boardwalk, restaurant places - Barefoot Landing and Broadway at the Beach. You could spend an entire day at either one depending on how much shopping you wanted to do. Enjoy MB. |
My parents and friends stay at Grande Shores and really like it:
http://www.grandeshores.com/ It is nice condos on the beach. |
The most upscale rentals in MB are the Marriott at Grande Dunes and Kingston Plantation. You might also want to give a look to Island Vista. This is essentially brand new and beautiful. Also, it's in a great section of MB (north end).
http://www.islandvista.com/ As you've never been to MB, one thing to be aware of: there is no town centre. It's very, very spread out. For instance, the boardwalk/shopping areas Shaz60 was talking about are approx. 10-12 miles apart and off the beach by about a mile. Mid-September will be a great time to visit. |
Just back from a long weekend at the Marriott - it continues to be a lovely upscale property, and in September it will be less crowded and very enjoyable. They also have villas that are more roomy (and pricey!) than the basic hotel rooms. Excellent, uncrowded beach; close to the outlet shops, and convenient to get to either Broadway or Barefoot Landing.
Kingston Plantation is less upscale but still quite nice - they have a large number of condos available. |
