Myrtle Beach

Which part of Myrtle Beach is less crowded and more quiet --the north beach part or the south?

I believe the north is a little quieter. In the south you have the boardwalk, the amusement places, etc. We stayed in N. Myrtle Beach and I liked it much better. It's really a matter of preference I guess.

If you're looking for a quiet beach vacation, you might want to consider the Litchfield area, which is south of Myrtle.

The south end is much quieter. Garden City, Litchfield, and Pawleys Island. The north end gets crazy during the summer months.

gaileyanne,

All I can tell you is ALL of Myrtle Beach is crowded from March 19-24. There is a huge National Cheerleading Competition that whole week. If you want to see and hear a bunch of sreeching young men and women. Then go at this time. I have the privilage of being there last year at that time. The hotels were filled, the resturants were filled, forget Broadway at the Beach - can't get near it.

Go to Litchfield beach. It is a better atmosphere by far. More locals.
