Dawn, with respect to the earlier post, I'll try to overcome the huge distraction (?) of your abbreviation of the word "would."

My wife & I frequently travel to Myrtle Beach (actually North Myrtle Beach, but the whole area is basically 60 miles of continuously developed beach-front), so we know a little about the area. You definitely want to stay in an ocean front room--there are so many of them, staying second or third row just doesn't make sense unless economics are a dire concern. And there are probably 50-plus large ocean-front hotels (and god only knows how many small "mom & pop" ocean-front hotels). Also, there are two resort areas a little north of the Pavillion (the center of Myrtle Beach) that you should consider for a first visit to the area. They are Kingston Plantation (my first choice) and Ocean Creek. Both have a variety of villas and oceanfront high-rise hotels. You can probably get a lot of info on hotels (and possibly air travel options) at www.myrtlebeachonline.com or www.myrtlebeachlive.com.

Stuff to do? If you're into golf, the area is a golf mecca. You can also charter fishing boats, fly over the beach in a vintage bi-plane (great experience for two--my wife & I loved it--in North Myrtle Beach), or simply hit the wide, flat beach with plenty of sunscreen! Favorite restaurants: Sea Captain's House; Atlantic Grill; Parson's Table (about 30 minutes North in Little River); and Chestnut Hill. Hint: you'll probably be told that you "have to go to Calabash to eat some real seafood"--unless you love every entre fried & battered beyond recognition, I'd avoid it.

Finally, there are a few off-the-beaten-path attractions you may want to consider: Brookgreen Gardens and Huntington Beach State Park (a beach park that shows what sand dunes used to look like before we replaced them with beach houses). And Charleston, SC is a two hour drive to the south--that's a wonderful place if you haven't been there before.

Hope you have a great time!
