You'd think I was a tourist, but no....I've lived in Hawaii all my life and had never seen a whale in person. Here are some of my photos.

WHAAAAT!?! that's okay Mel, i've never seen na pali from air until about five yrs ago, always admired it on the visitor info channel and envied all the tourist that did it on a clear day, i was too chicken. then unfortunately, there was a couple fatal helo accidents. the helo business suffered and they were giving rides away cheap.
awesome pics. but i think i'm more interested in the mochi cream. |
How exciting!
Is it Kal the Kayaker in one of your pictures? :)) |
Thanks for the nice comments, my Fodorite Friends! I know, it's amazing the stuff you see when you play tourist in your own back yard.

Great pics, MelissaHI!
I live in CA and have never had a chance to see whales here but I have been fortunate to see whales every time but once when we have visited Hawaii. We plan our visits in March and April to be able to see them. One year we were in Maui and could sit on the beach and watch them in the distance. We now spend most of our time in Kauai and go out on a sunset cruise each time we are there to see whales and dolphins. Gotta love Hawaii! |
