My New Orleans trip report Part 2

Fri-Lunch at Napoleon House. Interesting
decor/atmosphere. Had muffaletta-boring. Cypress Swamp
Tour $22/person w/ pickup on Decatur St. Got student
discount. I highly recommend this co. Boat was big
compared to Honey Island Swamp Tour but the guide was
very entertaining and hilarious. He was an authentic
Cajun born & raised on the swamp. His accent was so
thick that I thought he was speaking Spanish. Saw 4
big alligators. He tried to grab one of their tails
just to amuse us! Showed us a 20 lb. catfish that was
hanging on the other end of a floating fish line. Ate
beignets! Ate dinner at Bon Ton Cafe-SUCKED! Good
gumbo. Crawfish etouffe was way too buttery and
sloppily made. Bread pudding too alcoholic. Got sick
after this meal. Went to Balcony Bar-shady college
bar-what a crappy place.

Sat-Rode St. Charles trolley to Jazz Brunch @
Commander's Palace-the BEST meal I had in New Orleans.
Had Truffle & Wild Mushroom soup, Eggs Prytania (2
crabcakes w/ 2 poached eggs on top and creamy reddish
sauche), Bread Pudding Souffle-THE MOST AMAZING MEAL!
Avg. $48/person. Rode trolley to end of line and back
to sit off the rich meal and view the beautiful homes.
Didn't realize how slow the trolley is. Took 2 hours
to ride to end and back to FQ! Not worth the time.
Wanted to stroll down Magazine St. but not enough
time-oh well, maybe next time. Dinner @ Praline
Connection. Okay File gumbo (too thin), BBQ ribs w/
collard greens, potato salad, jambalaya (came with a
lot of stuff)-pretty good meal-very friendly staff.
Get the fried chicken here-very good. This was our
last meal and was happy b/c my stomach could not
handle another rich meal.

Sat night-Preservation Hall was so much fun. Just $5
admission and you can stay as long as you wish. Great
music and crowd. Beware: no A/C and sit on floor/few
benches or stand. Definitely go here! Then was
curious about "Live Sex Acts" club on Bourbon but
don't go here. What a rip off and very sleazy. Young
trashy college girls and guys dance and supposedly
perform live sex acts on stage but this part was a rip
off b/c it was only topless. Was expecting more
action for the $. No cover but 2 drinks = 12$. Lots
of sleazy old men and couples. Also don't enjoy being
approached by diseased dancers offering private lap
dances and sex acts in the back room. They should
seriously go back to school.

Sun-Fly home!

Exactly what were you expecting at the "live sex acts" club? What you describe is what I would expect - sleazy.

I'm curious as to how you know someone is "diseased" when the rest of the world can't seem to figure it out just from looking.

Thanks for all of the details. How did you like your hotel? I am trying to book one for my parents for a Christmas gift. Also, when you book on Priceline, do you get to chose the hotel?
