Yeah, I think suze is right. My guess is that she’s tried to bring up the planning and her husband just shuts her down. Without knowing more about the situation, I’m sympathetic towards her. She could be in the wrong, but then again, several of the people most critical of my travelling are the same people who spend 2-3 times more on car payments, booze, big screen TVs, and designer clothes. But that’s “better” because those are “necessities”.

Well hello... Let first start by saying that I meant “Alone” yes, I want to travel “SOLO”
2nd- Thank you for all your responses, the sympathetic and the not so much ones.
3rd- Money was never an issue.
4th- I talked to my lovely and understanding husband... long talk. We have been happily married for 10 years, yes we have two beautiful children, which are our most precious gifts... We reached an agreement, I’m going on my trip for seven days, he understood why I wanted to do this and supports me.

For those being so rude, lighten up a little. I just wanted an outside perspective. My desires for going this trip for some seem like a sin. I just want to make clear that I love my husband, that this trip is for me the individual, for me as a person. This is something I’ve always dreamed of and now I’m happy I will be able to make it happen.
Thank you again.
Happy travels!

I'm glad that you and your husband have reached an agreement and that you will be able to take your trip knowing that you have his support. Thanks for letting us know!

Are you traveling solo to get a vacation from your children? My first solo trip was a 30 day North America Rail Pass through Canada and the US. At the time my youngest was 21 and in the Marine Corps.
My wife has also taken several solo trips cross country. We're still together after 42 years.
Stay in touch a little more often.

Well this is excellent news! Thanks for posting your update. A 7 day solo trip seems a good way to give the idea a try. Sorry I forgot if you had a destination in mind?? See you on the Europe forum... maybe? A week in Paris would be fantastic.

That’s great that we’re able to air your differences and come to a mutual agreement. Have a great trip, wherever you go.

BTW, much as I'm sure some of us would love to know, you are under NO obligation to tell us where or why you go, and you can reach out to us as often or rarely as you like.

Enjoy your trip!
