My Hawaii Countdown

Just booked this fabulous house for 10 days next April with family. It's been 6 years, and that's just TOO Long. VRBO 499432

Thinking of doing a vow renewal service, 46 for us and 10 for son and DIL. Anybody have recommendations.

What island? We just came back from the Big Island and if I were renewing vows I would head straight to The Four Seasons Hakaluea ( I think that's how it was spelled) just north of Kona. Stunning property.

Sorry, we will be in Kauai, can't believe I didn't say that. Here is the URL for the house

Wow!! Gorgeous home! And congrats on 46!

We hit the big 40 last fall and did a vow renewal ceremony on the beach in front of the house we were staying, just east of Tunnels Beach. Had dinnner at Mediterranean Grill afterwards. We were traveling with friends, and one of them did a great job of performing the ceremony, while another played his ukulele. I'm sure they'd be happy to help with yours too if you've got an extra bedroom in that house. :-)

If it works out, you might buy leis from the elderly woman who has the little stand next to Kalalea Juice, across the road from Duane's Ono Char-Burger in Anahola. Can't remember her name....Auntie something... Sweet woman though, and she'll custom make the leis using flowers from her own garden. Sells them for less than $10. If she's not in the stand, her grandkids operate Kalalea Juice and can put you in touch with her.

Congratulations on 46 years! I absolutely love where you're staying. There are so many beautiful places in Kauai to renew vows. If you want to be outside, what about at the top of Waimea Canyon? That's such a beautiful view.

Samsaf, have been to top of the canyon, and it was sooo foggy we couldn't see each other! Otherwise a beautiful spot.

The view that keeps coming to my mind is from Hanalei Bay Resort looking over the water. Sigh...

We are So fortunate to be able to do this trip. We never take it for granted. Many years of sacrifice, and loving our family so much.

Mahola!

Hi rncheryl - I posted about my Kauai wedding at Hanalei Bay Resort on another thread and you responded. I wanted to tell you that as I recall, we paid a site fee for using the resort grounds in addition to the other fees for minister, flowers, cake, champagne, ukulele player, etc. But I think it all amounted to around 1000 or 1200 dollars but that was 13 years ago. I think the site fee then was 500 but it was totally worth it. Our wedding was on the beach and then we took pictures at some waterfalls followed by cake and champagne on a hill overlooking the beach and mountains.
It was all gorgeous and so memorable. I am pretty sure Marcia does vow renewals. If not I think Hanalei Bay resort has a wedding planner
Congratulations on your 46 anniversary and I hope your family trip and vow renewal are great!!! Sara
