My 30th Birthday - what to do??!
 

A friend and I will be spending my 30th birthday (nov 22nd) in Vegas..what should we be doing so that it's really memorable. We'll be coming from across the pond, I cannot wait!!

Go ahead and book your Big Show tickets -- Cirq du Soleil, Blue Man Group, whatever. And your hotel. Otherwise you should be reading up on fun things to do.

The problem with ``memorable,'' of course, is ``what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.'' You're supposed to conveniently forget all your bad behavior!

gamble, drink, wild sex, drink some more, eat, gamble, walk around, see a show, drink, dance, more sex.

If you've never been in Las Vegas, your visit will be memorable no matter what you do.

Book a room mid-Strip (in or near the Mirage and Bally's) and get tickets for the one or two shows that most appeal to you.

Spend a lot of time in the pool, and go to a spa.

Rent a car for a day or two and drive to Red Rock Canyon, Boulder Dam, or Zion National Park.

To avoid regret, give a pass to the gaming tables and slots. They are for suckers only. Don't let the wise guys in Las Vegas lead you down the primrose path.

I'd head out of Vegas to the National Parks in Utah. Zion and Bryce are absolutely stunning and definitely more memorable than the standard Vegas activities described above.
When you ask 'What should we be doing...' in Vegas it's like asking "what should we do on our honeymoon!!!!"

I am indeed single! very funny posts, I lived in SF for 3 yrs so I've seen the Grand Canyon and places around there.

Post #3 was particularly amusing! neither of us gamble doesn't really interest me all that much however after a few glasses of pop that may change!

We are booked in at the Hilton on the North end of the strip, so no wild parties back in our room! I'd like to go to some really good clubs that aren't geared towards the college mentality, I mean isn't 30 when you are meant to grow up and become 'responsible'!!!!

Well yes, but then you'd be following the advice in post no. 5, but then why go to Vegas :)

I can't believe Charlene is telling us she is coming in for her birthday and wants a good Vegas time and she is getting recommendations to leave Las Vegas. God some of you are boring.

Our intention is to have as much fun as possible, dance til we can't dance anymore, flirt with all and sundry and get it out of our system, so when I return I will be in the correct frame of mind fitting for my age!!

I don't really do the clubs...I mostly play craps, drink Gin &amp; Tonics, bet on the games, and eat till my ass is leaking.

I'll leave the club recommendations for others. Have a great time though. It will be cold at night, mild during the day.

I forgot: Also go dancing.

Try to go to clubs that are targeted to an older crowd. This may include lounges instead. I would consider Wynn, Tao, Moon, and spots at Mandalay Bay. Hard Rock should be fun to go clubbing as well - I would actually stay there or at the Palms instead of the Hilton for a birthday celebration. Hilton is off the strip and generally quieter with an older crowd.
