Mustang Convertible

We have a convertible hired from Hertz for our vacation in September, firstly, does anyone know if Hertz have the 2005 model yet and secondly the trunk space, we use large holdalls rather than suitcases and will have two of them.

Many Thanks

Have you tried asking Hertz?

I have emailed them, was just wondering though if anyone had any first hand experience.

Hertz is renting them, although they're flying off the lots (they're all over the streets here in southern California). Trunk space is extremely tight, but the back seat is fine for extra storage (it's not like anyone would want to sit back there for very long).

Many thanks, there's just the two of us so it should be fine.

You probably won't get the 2005 Mustang from Hertz. I'm a #1 Gold Club member and I "reserved" a Mustang recently -- they even claim to guarantee it -- but of course when I got to Ft. Myers they didn't have it. In fact, the manager was laughing about it, saying they only had two 2005's and they are always out.

Will location be a factor, we're hiring in San Francisco

Last spring we hired a Mustang in L.A. from Hertz. We did get an '05 (but had not requested a convertible). They cautioned us that they would not guarantee we'd get a Mustang when we arrived, but there were several in the parking lot when we checked in near LAX. We had bags for three people and found the trunk to be much bigger than we'd expected. We had no problem with it.

Thanks MaureenB, sounds positive.
