Must See/Do in Oregon & Washington

I'm looking for help planning a 2-week driving trip in western halves of Washington and Oregon. I'll be traveling with my family during the 2nd half of July and do not want to drive too far east in either state. I like natural wonders, boat trips, dramatic coastal scenery, history, eating (especially seafood), beer, music, etc. QUESTION: What are some things that someone must see/do?

At the top of the page you will see a "view by state" window.
click on Oregon and read one or more of the topics and then do the same for Washington.
I would come as far east as US 97 in each state.
The best seafood area in Oregon is Charleston (outside Coos Bay).
With 2 weeks you can see a lot in each state.
As for breweries, there are many in Portland and a few in Bend.
Tell us about your family and where you are coming from.
Are you driving into the state or are you flying into PDX or SEA?

I would put Mount St Helens at the top of my list if I were planning this trip. It was something to behold. The visitors centers are extremely well done. It is interesting to both young and old.

Otherwise the Oregon coastline has amazing views as you drive. There are some very nice lighthouses to stop and see. A visit to Lewis and Clark's National Park in Astoria was also something my family enjoyed. The fort and visitor's center is great for history lovers.

If you do the entire Oregon Coast you would be very close to Northern Redwoods in California. Would be nice if you could do a day or two there.

Oregon Caves is also not far from there and you might want to visit it.
