If she had been before I might say 11 is too old for MK but since she's never been she needs to experience MK.

When I was in college I went to the Rose Bowl as a cheerleader for OSU. Included in our weeklong tour group was the OSU marching band and all the walk on football players. We were like kids in a candy store at Disneyland. It was hilarious! I still love The Haunted Mansion and the ever cheesy Space Mountain.

Take her to Magic Kingdom because she'll never be this young again. Let her act whatever age she wants - even if it means waiting an hour for Dumbo.

It sounds as though your niece has had too much sadness in her life already. Some kids have never gotten the chance to have a carefree day. There's nothing wrong with trying to recapture your childhood, at any age.

If she has also wants to see some of Animal Kingdom, could you go the day before or after to the restaurant in the Animal Kingdom lodge?

I would take her to Magic Kingdom. For my daughter's fifth grade end of the year trip, they went to Magic Kingdom. The class had a great time.

Disney recently changed their ticket structuring. You can now buy a one day multiple park ticket. Check the Disney site for the price difference. If your niece is not enjoying the Magic Kingdon, you could take Disney transportation to another park.

Thank you, thank you everyone!!

And Ryan, sorry I am a hard core Disney fan. (have gone to Universal and well, to each her own. It' s sort of like the coke/pepsi debate.)

I am thinking Magic Kingdom. That was what I wanted to do and I let someone talk me out of that.

I have been to WDW many times, so I know a lot of the tricks to maximizing
our visit. And Dreamer that is just about my strategy! I always kid my husband when I am having a bad day that I am going to run away to florida and go and work for "the mouse".

I have read many guide books on the parks. My favorites are Fodors and Birnbaums. I think they complement eachother.

Thanks everyone!
