Must-do's Inner Harbor?

Traveling to Inner Harbor for the weekend. Kids ages 13, 10, and 8. What attractions shouldn't we miss? Best places to eat with the kids? Suggestions for restaurants in Little Italy as well would be appreciated.

Baltimore?

Hope it's not too obvious to say that you must see the Aquarium. My kids (and husband) LOVED IT.

As Joy mentioned, the National Aquarium is awesome! Also, Port Discovery and the ESPN Sports Zone. As far as restaurants in Little Italy, we like Sabatinos. Restaurants for the kids would probably be Planet Hollywood or the Espn Zone, we dont have kids, so Im not to sure. I hope this helps some.

Hi Deb

Also the Maryland Science Center...other than that and the Aquarium, it's mostly shopping central, with also a few bars and restaurants surrounding. Your kids may also like the paddleboating...often also there is free musical entertainment.

You may wish to take a water taxi ($5 for unlimited use for a day) to Fort McHenry...your kids should enjoy the ride and may also enjoy the battlements here (and possibly learning about the history). Take the water taxi on to Fell's Point, a historic neighborhood with a taste of Bawl'mer charm. Grab a bite to eat here if you like.

I've been to only one restaurant in Little Italy...Sabatino's...I thought it was good...others may have more suggestions.

Have a great time in Charm City. We wander around Little Italy and read menus, check out the "crowd" and go with our "nose." Have never had a bad experience. I think there's a place named Momo's which is like you're in an old movie it is so authentic.

If you're not afraid to venture into the projects, go to Attman's on Lombard Street for a great corned beef sandwich. Make sure you have a map with good directions. The neighborhood is seedy but relatively okay during daylight hours.

Also, try to get tickets for an Orioles game (bring the corned beef sandwiches there). Camden Yards is a wonderful stadium.

There is also Port Discovery which is a kids theme park of sorts (I haven't been there but I'm sure there's a web site).

Here's another vote for the National Aquarium - WOW! Get their when they first open. If you arrive 2 hours later, you may spend a fair amount of time waiting in line and it may be difficult to see over folks gathered around smaller aquarium tanks. We took the water taxi (there are two water taxi operators) over to Fort McHenry and that was fascinating - my 3 kids loved it.
