music scene for teens

We will be in Seattle for 7 days. My kids are underage but want to see live music. Are there any clubs for teens? Thanks

My boy has gone to several concerts at El Corazon. There has never been a problem when he's been there, but I make a point to be waiting to pick him up right away just to keep him out of the post event milling crowd.

The Experience Music Project would be a good place to check too. The SkyChurch performance hall inside the EMP has live performances and the museum has participatory music activities as well.

Club Amp is another underage venue, but I have no personal experience with it. Jazz Alley is a great live music spot, but your kids might not be into the music.

I suggest you check out seattle.citysearch.com and select bars&clubs from the menu bar. You can query age limits. Good luck

Seattle has a great music scene for young people. There are a couple of teen clubs in the 'burbs - Ground Zero in Bellevue and the Old Fire House in Redmond. Ground Zero has concerts most every Friday night, but their website is lacking, at least as of this point. You could call them:

The Old Fire House, in Redmond, also has lots of concerts.

These are shows largely by teens and for teens. Parents drop off their kids for a few hours and pick them up when the show is over. The charge is minimal and the music is LOUD.

At Ground Zero, they may have 3 or 4 bands in one night. It provides an opportunity for local garage bands to play. (My son's group - high school kids - has played at Ground Zero)

There are other venues as well in Seattle that allow teens, though they may not be actual teen centers, like the two venues above.

Just talked to the boy on this. He likes Studio Seven and The Lab in Seattle. These are both underage clubs in Seattle. Here's the Sudio Seven website:

http://www.studioseven.us/

I couldn't find the Lab.

He also suggested I add the Kirkland Teen Youth Building (KTYB) to the list of actual teen centers that have music.

Adding another one, in case you haven't come. My son and a friend are going to a great show, he says, at "Chop Suey" tonight. The show if for "All Ages." Some of their shows are for adults only, so you have to check their website.

Topped your other thread on this same topic. Just click on your screen name (or type it in the search box)and hit search when you lose a thread you started.

Nix the Chop Suey. My son did not rate the venue highly.
