Is anybody familiar with this museum at 2 Columbus Circle? I'm looking for something to fill a fairly narrow window of time tomorrow, and this might work. Interesting? Only for a specific audience?

MAD's focus is contemporary craft, applied arts and design. That is a particular interest of mine but I don't think it is so narrow as to exclude anyone with a general interest in the visual arts. I visit a couple of times a year.

The current director came within the last year or so from the V&A and has breathed some very fresh air into the place.

Also, the restaurant on the top floor (Robert?) is excellent and offers a beautiful vista of the city and Central Park.

Thanks, obxgirl. Looks like it needs to be on my list, even if we don't get there tomorrow.
