Allow an hour to an hour and a half for each leg, plus stopping time if you take the old highway along the Gorge (which you should.) Don't rush through this lovely country.

I just returned from that area. I didn't write down the times, but I'd guess you could get to the Falls in 50 minutes. Mt. Hood is about 45 minutes from Hood River so I'd say it's about an hour or so from the Falls but, without looking at a map, don't believe me. There was no traffic and we zoomed all the way. I thought Timberline was a bit disappointing. The rooms were small and in bad repair although the dinner was great. It's a ski area with nothing to do in the evenings. Multnomah Falls may be the tallest waterfall in Oregon but there were so many others to see that I thought were more beautiful. Don't rush because in a 2-5 mile area, there are many.
