Mt. Snow vs. Killington

I am new to the East, and wondered if Killington is worth the additional drive from NYC vs. a shorter drive to Mt. Snow. I know the skiing is better, but is is that much better??

It's a much bigger mountain and will have a greater variety of trails (and more vertical drop) but better is relative. You'll probably find it to be a bit crowded on weekends just as Mt. Snow is. I doubt that mid winter skiing conditions are much different.

Killington in a great mountain but too crowded on the weekends. Mt.Snow on the other hand is a good mountain but also gets crowded because it's close enough for CT and MA skiers to just drive up for the day. I personally think Okemo is the best choice. It's a great mountain. They have the best grooming in Vermont...Killington is the worst. There is almost never a lift line because you'll never need to come back to the bottom lift(which is where all the crowds are)They've done this by having lifts all around the mountain that never directly lead to the main bottom base. If it's night life your looking for then I would say Killington is the place to be. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. Have a great time!!!
