Mt. Howser or Dunnings Falls?
Taking a road trip from Minneapolis to McGregor Iowa to do some hiking in state parks along the Mississippi (Pikes Peak, Effigy Mounds, Yellow River St. Park, and Wyalusing). Trying to decide if I should drive through Decorah and hike Dunning's Spring trail and Ice cave on the way to McGregor, or take the Great river road and stop at Mt Howser for a quick hike and views instead? I've been to the north shore and have seen many waterfalls, but have never been do Decorah. Any advice? Thank you!
