Moving to Utah....need help!

Brother and sister-in-law moving to Ogden, Utah. Need help finding a family-friendly safe neighborhood in the area (they have a 1yr. old and are expecting). Can anyone recommend good neighborhood or school district? Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, is Salt Lake City too far away to live while he works in Ogden?
Thanks.

Yes, I think Salt Lake is too far away to commute to Ogden every day. There are lots of nice cities north of Salt Lake which are safe and the commute wouldn't be too bad - Kaysville and Centerville come to mind. I don't know the Ogden area very well, so can't help there.

I love your headline. It says it all.

Jimjim- what is that suppose to mean???

I have friends who live in Kaysville and they love it. Great community. Utah is the most family friendly state not to mention beautiful. I have many friends who live in Vegas who are trying to move their families to Utah. Probelm is when you are a valet parker, cocktail waitress etc it is hard to find a job here that pays Vegas wages.
Good luck any town you go to you will love.

I know several people who drive from Ogden each day to work in SLC. Personally, I would not want to do it.
My recommendation for Ogden would be a neighborhood east of Harrison Blvd. Or checkout the North Ogden area, or Plain City to the West. Also, the surrounding to the south between Ogden and SLC,f.e. Roy, Sunset, Clearfield, Farmington and Centerville, and Kaysville would have much appeal if in fact one had to drive to from SLC to Ogden each day. Actually, the drive from SLC to Ogden and back each day would be much better than driving from Ogden to SLC each day due to traffic.
However, if will be working in Ogden, I would definately check out Mountain Green area, and Morgan which are located up Weber Canyon on East bound I-84. I think Mountain Green is about 8 miles up the canyon, and Morgan about 15. Both of these small communitiies are quite rural, but very nice. Very nice!

Forget living in SLC and driving to Ogden. The traffic is horrible not to mention the prices on housing are cheaper near Ogden.
Previous poster mentioned Huntsville and Morgan up Weber Canyon- very pretty.
Ogden also has some of the best affordable skiing in the area and if you live up Weber Canyon you are out of the inversion/smog of the Salt Lake valley
