You will be very isolated... plan to drive a long way for a weekend getaway.

Lake Okoboji in NW Iowa is kind of fun - 1 hour 30 minutes.

Minneapolis - 4 hours

Omaha - 3 hours

Sioux City - 1 hour 30 minutes

Sioux Falls is a fun little city. There a few good restaurants, but nothing jumps out as a must try. Just realize you will be in the heart of rural America. If you're not used to it, it can be like a foreign country.

moti, describe the type of area you live in now. Some people wound find Souix Falls to be a move to the city. Others might find it too spread out and none pedestrian friendly. Others would notice the lack of trash and trashed out neighborhoods.
