Mount Rushmore in February?
Hello,
I am thinking of visiting Mount Rushmore in February 2004.
Is it safe and achievable and can I do this via public transport or do I have to hire a car.
If I have to hire a car - any particular one ie 4 Wheel drive due to snow etc
I am correct in assuming I would fly to Denver as this is the nearest major city?
I am flying in from the UK.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Mount Rushmore is about 400 miles from Denver. It would be better to fly to Denver and connect to Rapid City. Mt Rushmore is about 35 miles from Rapid City airport. You'd need a car from there, as there isn't any public transportation to the park. There might be tour buses, but I am not sure.
Snow is likely, although I don't know what the roads are like there, maybe someone else can help with that.
For some basic information, try their website.

Hope this helps a little.
