Mount Dora restaurant suggestions needed for mom's B'day

Hi,

My mom and I are going to be passing through Mount Dora for the day (part of a trip celebrating her birthday) and I'm trying to find a nice restaurant to have dinner on our last evening.

I was leaning toward The Goblin Market but after reading a very unfavorable review by another person with their mother, I'm no longer sure. Have also considered The Gables Restaurant. So, what do you think? Do you have a favorite?

Restaurant does not have to be super nice to please. Any place with pleasant service, good food, and warm (or interesting) atmosphere. She loves quaint if that helps.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Beth

Beth, my immediate thought was the Lakeside Inn--however I being prudent checked reviews and they are terrible if you are going to rent a room--however the reviews for the restaurant are still good--soo up to you. It has been 7 years since I was there but I loved it. Anyway your choice--www.Lakeside-inn.com

Hi SiestaLinda,

Funny! I was just looking at the Lakeside Inn. Did you eat at the Beauclaire Restaurant? My mom loves that old-world stuff so it looks great.
Thanks so much for the suggestion.

My mother goes to Mount Dora frequently and the current restaurant favorite among her and her friends is Pisces Rising. http://www.piscesrisingdining.com/

Outside Mount Dora, on 441 much closer to Leesburg, is Vic's. Gets rave reviews from almost everybody and is surprisingly reasonably priced.

BTilke, thanks for the suggestion (and the weblink!) Looks interesting. The fact they advertise their homemade soups is sure to interest my mom (a soup fanatic)!
