Mother's Day Trip

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has taken a small trip, retreat, weekend, overnight etc. etc. with their mom's for Mother's Day. We live in the Boston, Cape Cod and metro West areas of Ma. and it would be so nice to do something different or exciting other than the typical Mother's Day brunch. Thanks for your input.

Try a Day Spa on the Friday or Saturday before.

My mom and I are fortunate to travel and do lots together so the SPa with her picking here things and me picking mine was excellent.

You may also consider volunteering together at a Battered Women's Shelter
on that day. We did and I can only say that we will never forget that day...

My Best,

Highly recommend Pond View in Brentwood. Positively awesome, especially for Mother's Day - though it may be too late (but try anyway) to reserven for Mother's Day this year...

I recently went to a weekend retreat at Kripalu in Lenox. I noticed there were several mother/daughter groups and I thought it looked like a unique trip if you are up for a "new age" experience.

My mom would never go for it, but I think it would be a real treat.

Dkjbooks, what is Pond View and where is Brentwood?

I've been to Pond View on mothers day once and it was crazy--way too many people for me. I know it's in NH and was more of a drive than I anticipated.

For mother's day, we are going to Stonehedge Inn in Tyngsboro, MA. If you check out their website, it is a B&B with a spa and an extensive wine cellar. Haven't been there. Have seen it featured on Chronicle.
