Need some big time help!
My 24 year old daughter and myself will be without family this holiday. Since she is very involved in retail she will have off dec 23 - 26. I wanted spend some time with her and relax. Maybe a overnight/spa or ????
We will be driving so we didnt want to go to much farther than 2 hours in any direction from LAX. Just thought maybe someone had some ideas. I thought of something in the arts..but it seems im quite late for that also.
You help will be helpful.

Hi..
Laguna Beach has wonderful galleries and the Surf & Sand Resort is a great place to stay and has a spa too..maybe they will have a Xmas package..great restaurants in LB..
Monarch Bay Resort & Spa in Dana Pt.. La Jolla has Estancia Hotel, La Costa Resort..

Love the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego..the hotel is stunning and nobody does Christmas better than the Del!
Personally, that is where I would go..check direct or Expedia..they had an incredible deal via e-mail for the holidays..$169 a night..
Best to you and your daughter!

Tams gave some great possibilities. Don't rule out the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, which is across Coast Highway from the St. Regis Monarch Beach. Here are the websites for these two:

http://www.ritzcarlton.com/resorts/laguna_niguel/

http://www.stregismb.com/

Both are great. The R-C is oceanside, but the St. Regis offers shuttles to the beach (even if it's a bit nippy, bundle up and take a walk along the shore-- it's good for the soul).

The Del is a wonderful idea. La Costa in Carlsbad might be nice too, since it's got a great spa and it's quite beautiful too.

If you want to go a bit offbeat, the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa is maybe 2 1/2 hours driving, and a world away. Ojai is a cool little artist's community, and you really feel like you're far away from the cares of The Big City.

The Mission Inn in Riverside is also a possibility. It is beautifully decorated for Xmas. www.missioninn.com

If you want cool weather and mountians you can try the Lake Arrowhead Resort. www.laresort.com

Solvang might also be charming for the Holidays.

The Palm Springs area has a wealth of spa resorts, also.

It might be tough getting reservations at this late date, but you could get lucky.

We just spent 3 nights at the Del this past week and one at the Montage in Laguna Beach. The Del was amazing and such a gorgeous place to stay. We enjoyed the pool area very much and there is a great jacuzzi there. My husband had a massage at the spa which he said was wonderful. :)

Ocean 1500 was a very nice place to dine one night and our daily breakfasts at the Sheerwater were also very good. You can not go wrong with this place. We had a room that was very spacious and overlooked the gardens and gazebo, just off of the lobby in the Victorian section. There are also several very nice places to shop right at the Del. :)

The Montage was absolutely amazing. There is also a nice spa there where I got my hair cut. Spectacular property where you will be truly pampered. The beach right in front of the resort was very nice for sunning in the morning, also and the Mosaic pool was fantastic for swimming. ***kim*** ((#))
