Motel in San Francisco
 

Anyone know if the Columbus Motor Inn on Columbus Avenue in San Francisco is any good. They say it is close to the wharf. Please reply if you know. Thanks.

How many times are we going to have to be subjected to this question?

It is decent lodging at a reasonable price, no amenities, clean rooms. Good location several blocks from the wharf.

The wharf is terrible! Tourist tourist tourist. Stay at Union Square.

Come on now--the Wharf is not that bad!!--except maybe on weekends!! <BR>There is a lot to see and walking is easy and can take the Cable Car downtown.Of course, lodging high at Wharf AND around Union Square.At present Union Square is all blocked off-renovation for the next year!! Stay at Columbus Ave. --you will like it!!!

I stayed at Columbus Motor Inn a year ago. We really liked it and parking is free. But there are no amenities. It is an easy walk to the Wharf, North Beach, or China Town. The rooms were big and if you are on the 3rd floor most rooms have a view of Coit Tower and Alcatraz. Bus line is right out the front door and the Cable Car line is a couple blocks away. It is located right on the street so it is not absolutely quiet. I would stay there again.
