What do you think is the most romantic restaurant in Wine County (with fabulous food, of course!) The French Laundry will be closed during our visit, I have heard...

Auberge du sole and ask to sit by the window
La Toque
Domaine Chandon
All of the above are great but expensivebut not as expensive as French Laundry.We had dinner at all of the above and highly rec. them.

Terra in St. Helena is very nice. We recently celebrated my birthday there. Very romantic, excellent food and service! ***kim***

Also loved Auberge du Soleil, but that was several years ago.

Terra has my vote, too. It is quaint, quiet and romantic with delicious food and, of course, an excellent wine list. The Auberge is better for lunch or champagne at sunset when there is still a view. At night, you lose that.

We also love Domaine Chandon, outside on the terrace, for a champagne lunch. Other good dinner options are Martini House, Tra Vigne and a really exquisite small place in St. Helena of which the name escapes me at this moment.

Have a wonderful stay and don't worry about The French Laundry's closing. We loved our meal there, as well, but did not find it to be the most romantic of our dining experiences.

The little place in St. Helena is called Roux. It is excellent and you will get completely personalized attention and great food.

www.terrarestaurant.com and www.rouxrestaurant are the websites so you can view menus and reviews. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be wonderful. IMO, this is one of the most romantic areas in our state. ***kim*** :)

Railroad Square in Santa Rosa!
