Most Romantic Hotels in Key West
Hey guys. Planning a short notice trip for February 17-21 and want to know what the best or most romantic B&B or Hotel in Key West. You guys have been great in the past, so I'm looking forward to your suggestions again. Thanks

If you don't require a Gulf views, the Marquesa Hotel or Gardens Hotel.

I second the Marquesa; it's probably the nicest small hotel in Key West. Pricey, but worth it. I treated my husband to a long weekend there for his 40th birthday last May. Also, Simonton Court looked nice, with individual cottages grouped around courtyards, right in Old Town. Both of these intimate inns are just a few blocks off Duval -- walking distance to everything, but away from the hustle and noise.

We stayed at Simonton Court last year in Manor House 1 which is half of a house with its own private hot tub on the deck and a pool shared with Manor House 2. You still have use of the main pool of course. It was very private and romantic. We are staying at the Gardens this year (this is the first time I was able to find availability for the dates we like to go - it is always booked!). I do not think you could go wrong with Simonton Court, Gardens or Marquesa.

We're planning a stay to Key West as well. Any feedback on the Hyatt Key West Resort & Marina as well?
Thanks. |
I've stayed at the Hyatt too. It is nice, our room was large and nicely decorated (no view though - it overlooked the parking lot), well-located to Mallory Square and Duval, small pool and beach. I prefer the smaller inns and B&B's but the Hyatt was perfectly fine if you prefer a hotel.

Marquesa.
Hyatt is the nicest (I think) of the larger places to stay with the best location. |
the gardens is by far the best. marquesa is a close second, but I prefer the gardens. |
Hope this isn't a double post; I've had trouble with fodors today.
I've stayed at the Hyatt several times and like it a lot. The location is great, the pool area is nice (if you blink you'll miss the beach), and most rooms have water views with balconys. I think you'll be pleased with your choice. |
I also favor the Marquesa (+ it has a great restaurant) or The Heron House which is not far.

We stayed at the Heron House last week. It was our second time there. Think we'll try to get the Gardens or Marquesa the next visit. Simonton Court also looks very nice. The garden terrace junior suites at Heron House are very nice but feel like most of the staff and service is very impersonal.
Also, we ate at Marquesa on my birthday (Jan. 18th) and for the first time in many visits was somewhat disappointed. It was good but just not wonderful like I'd remembered. Wanted a Bailey with my coffee after dinner and they were out. Had a poor watery substitue. Hope it was just an off night. |
