most annoying things on a vacation

what are the most annoying or rude things people have done or do on a trip(s) that you have taken? linda

tammy's boyfriend Jun 4th, 2001 06:07 PM

Someone stole my girlfriend, tammy's thong swimsuit in Hawaii. <BR>It was her fault as I see it. <BR>She was properly reprimanded.

cindy Jun 4th, 2001 06:11 PM

My boyfriend kept ogling other girls in Hawaii. <BR>I paid for the whole trip myself. <BR>I don't have much money and I've done everything to try to make him love me. <BR>But he still looks at other women when I'm around, right in front of me. <BR>Should I go to Hawaii by myself next time? <BR>I love him so much. <BR>He's not nice to me. <BR>What's wrong with me?

funny Jun 4th, 2001 07:49 PM

I know this is wrong, but the last two posts made me laugh out loud. My family wants to know what's so funny. Where do I begin to explain?

Margo Jun 4th, 2001 08:01 PM

...a little levity for Fodor's regulars who have had to suffer through reading all that drivel. <BR>A well deserved chuckle, perhaps?

Your girlfriend was reprimanded? What did you do? Beat her with her leftover bikini top?

teri Jun 4th, 2001 08:55 PM

Cindy: Are you the same lady who posted before her trip about how her boyfriend was being difficult?

Leone Jun 5th, 2001 05:20 AM

Cindy - if you are for real, the doctor is in. I'll be glad to suggest you dump the guy and get some therapy. Lets ee, I'll just bet he's not the first one you selected to act that way. I suppose you understand, and if not you need to, where the real issue lies. Good luck. Now, if this is not for real (someone would never do that on a fodors thread, right?), keep the guy, if you have one, but do get some help. Have a nice day. Ciao

tim Jun 5th, 2001 06:14 AM

i guess it would be seeing tony sneak into the airplane bathroom with his girlfriend. (see last week's post)

who are you Jun 5th, 2001 07:40 AM

I have the same question as Teri. Cindy, are you the same person who could not decide last month to go Hawaii with your older fellow and despite what the fodorites told you (go by yourself) you STILL went w/ the jackass?

Al Jun 5th, 2001 07:46 AM

Hey keep up Fodorites, Cindy ran off with Don Ho in Hawaii so her poor dejected smoke-breath boyfriend ran off with Tammy and her tong. On the way back he joined the mile high club with a bunch of teen age girls going on their senior class trip...

Steve Jun 5th, 2001 08:16 AM

The most annoying are americans who use the word "ciao" and seemingly can't recognize satire.

Chuck Jun 5th, 2001 08:38 AM

Steve-It takes an intelligent person to decipher L's cryptic posts. Something you obviously lack as well as manners.

Kate Jun 5th, 2001 09:04 AM

It happened in Mexico as my husband and I were eating lunch. We were having something very simple like grilled chees or nachos. Two college-aged American girls sat beside us and started reading the menu which had been translated into English for the benefit of tourists. One of them asked the waiter in a very loud voice if the sneese they used was "American Cheese." <BR>He tried, to the best of his ability, to explain what kind of cheese it was. I think it was something "exotic" like Cheddar. She kept referring to American cheese and Velveeta. Finally the poor waiter took my plate and waved it under her face and said, "Is just Cheese!" I offered her a bite to see if she liked it, but she didn't think I was very funny.

L Jun 5th, 2001 09:28 AM

Hey, thank you, Chuck. And Steve, please don't begrudge me ciao ... I mean, how often can one say hello and goodbye at the same time. Okay, just this once ... Oxford It. Dict., page 58. Ciao

RB Jun 5th, 2001 09:44 AM

Thought: if the gal from "Weakest Link" ever fades away, L. could have a new career. I can hear it now: "You ARE the weakest link! Ciao!" LOL!

hello Jun 5th, 2001 09:45 AM

Aloha. Shalom. That's three.

L Jun 5th, 2001 10:46 AM

RB, I'm still laughing. Actually, if I did have Anne's job, I give the links a little hug as they went past. As much as espouse black, on her, not. Cape on pants suit ... zowweee!! Anyway, thanks for the lift. And here's a ciao back at ya'. Leone

The ubiquitous cell phone....especially around the pool. I'm trying to relax, read my book, keep the umbrella straight on my drink (!!) & some jerk is rambling <BR>on & on & on in a loud, obnoxious voice. <BR>Last week I experienced the effect in stereo: People on both sides of me <BR>yakking away non-stop. They shd. have <BR>'no cell phone zones' or 'designated <BR>areas for cell phone use' b/c this thing <BR>is out of control!
