Mosser Hotel in San Francisco
 

Has anyone stayed at the Mosser Hotel in San Francisco, and what was it like?

If this is the one on Clay street... well... it looks like being rented by hour or week. Must be a different Mosser you're asking about.

Hi Birdieman and Faina, I am not familar with the Mosser Hotel but went to Google and there is a Mosser Hotel that is at 4th and Mission. It was an old Victorian Hotel and now has evidently been remodeled. I have never heard of it. Some rooms have a hall bathroom and some ensuite. The website is: www.themosser.com.

The Mosser "appeared" about four years ago - not exactly what I would call brand new. It is a nice re-do of a handsome old building, I'm glad it was saved. I walk by it frequently and have popped into the street-level Annabelle's bistro/bar for lunch and after work drinks a few times, and looked around the small lobby. Have never seen a guest room, just pictures of them. I like the place. The downtown location is great for walking to Moscone, Union Square, SFMOMA, Metreon, Yerba Buana Gardens, SF Shopping Centre, and is close to all traansportation (BART, Muni, streetcars, cablecars, taxis).

The clientele at the Mosser appears to be a mix of young professionals, convention-goers, stylin' tourists. I hear it is a favorite for musicians who are in town -- there's an entire recording studio as part of the hotel.

Hi bluestar, that is interesting! Thanks for the update, like I said I had not even heard of it or Annabelle's Bistro. I will check it out the next time I am in SF. It is interesting Birdieman that you gave us info about somewhere that hasn't really been mentioned to my knowledge. If you stay there please let us know what you think about Mosser. Best wishes.

a friend stayed at the mosser last summer and she thoroughly enjoyed. she said that the rooms were on the smaller side. i would suggest the carlton (on sutton in the union square district). i just stayed there and thought it was fantastic from rooms to service.

There is a Mosser on Clay streeet close to my work, it looks like a last resort place for people with no income, that's why I was concerned. I'm glad there is another Mosser.

Carlton is on Sutter (not Sutton) and was recently remodeled.

Yes the Mosser is a "re-do". I don't like the area, although the blurbs for it look "interesting".
