Mosquitos and centipede's in Kauai

Looking for lodging in Kauai for 3 nights. The north has such beauty, but other than being a far drive to Waimea Canyon, I'm concerned about biting bugs. They must have them because I see mosquito netting around so many of the beds. Since this is a concern of ours, should we concentrate on finding lodging on the northeast, east or south?
Sorry for being such a wimp.

i've never seen a centipede on kauai but i've been bitten by mosquitos. if you are worried about it i would buy some repellant as soon as you get there. remember you are going to the tropics and there will be bugs no matter what side you stay on.
i've replied to some of your other posts and i personally would only stay on the north shore of kauai it is one of the most beautiful places in the world but you seemed set on staying on the northeast.
you need to stay with in your comfort zone.

I too have addressed this on your previous threads. Find someplace with functional screens on the doors and windows. Wear bug spray when you go out in the evenings. If it is really that big of concern stay in a hotel where you can shut the windows and turn on the a/c. We've stayed in places with mosquito netting and never used it. Now, if you are planning on camping...

I don't think it matters where you stay on the island. Pick the place that looks best to you. There are biting bugs. Some people are bothered by them more than others. Regarding centipedes, I've heard they exist, but I've never seen one.

It is nighttime.....

you are in bed.....

you look up at the ceiling...or you go into the bathroom and turn on the light...

what's that thing scurrying around?

A Gekko.......

Thanks to both of you. We have found so many rentals to choose from at great prices thru vrbo. I love the lush jungles on the north side and have found cheap places! one was a Yurt for under a hundred dollars deep in the jungle and it was goreous even had granite countertops in the kitchen. I have found lodging in Hanalie,Kalihiwai,Kilauea,Moloaa Bay and Kapaa for $95.00 to $150.00 per night. The options are many, I'm just trying to find which is the best fit for us and if one location has more biting bugs then another, that would play a role in our decision.

A family member was bitten by a centipede on Oahu last year. Nasty little creature!

Whenever I stay at a hotel, I miss talking to my friendly chirping geckos in the night. They are my friendly little protectors from the scary bugs!
