Mosquitoes/Lake Champlain?

Hello,
We're thinking about a trip to Tyler Place, in the northern part of Lake Champlain this summer. We've heard mosquitoes can be quite aplenty and we're wondering whether anyone can give us more info. Is there are time in the summer that's better to go than other times? Are the mosquitoes out all day? Just how plentiful are they, anyway? Should we expect to come away with at least a dozen bites over a week's stay?
Appreciate any input!
