Morristown, NJ - What's fun for a summer weekend with preschoolers?

Hi,
I'll be visiting my niece (3) and nephew (5) for a weekend this summer (end of July or beginning of August) and want to do something memorable in either NYC or northern Jersey. Any ideas? Is there a local Morristown theatre that might have live shows - like fairy tale theatre or the Wiggles? Any advice is welcome and appreciated.

The Seeing Eye Dog museum is in Morristown - they might be interested in that. There are often blindfolded people walking these puppies around Morristown to train them for their future owners.

How about the Bronx Zoo?

I googled "Children's Theaters NJ" and found this website http://www.funnj.com/arts/theatres/

At that age, my children were thrilled with a playground and a pool.

take a look at www.njskylands.com

you'll see area maps and a list of activities and attractions around the area

in morristown itself there's washington's headquarters and several historic sites. also the morris museum, community theater etc. lewis morris park and all sorts of other hiking/biking trails - some with swimming areas too.

down the road in madison there's the nj shakespeare festival which offers some programs for kids during the summer months.

there's another website you might want to look at www.morristourism.org

Morris County has lots of great things to do with kids. The Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum has their summer series for children during the month of July. The Morris County Park Commission has 17,000 acres of parkland and great playgrounds, not to mention Fosterfields Living Historical Farm, kids love it! The Community Children's Museum is in Dover. Alstede's Farm in Chester is always a big hit with the kids and Valley Shepherd Creamery and their sheep in Long Valley will amuse the whole family. All within a 20 minute drive of Morristown. Visit www.morristourism.org, click on Things to Do, Take the Kids and have fun!

There is a great " ice cream parlor " called The Creamery---on South Street,--downtown Morristown. About2-3 blocks from " The Green ", a square inn town center.

There is quite a lot I enjoyed as a kid, I'm sure much of it is still there (I grew up in Randolph). The Morristown area is quite historic, I loved Tempe Wick and Waterloo. I know it's not the Wiggles, but still very interesting, even when I was a child. I believe the CCM had a planetarium as well.
