We are not you. How would we know whether you should visit?

Really? I love Venice, New York City, the Canadian Rockies, Iguazu Falls, and New Orleans. How does that relate to whether I'm glad I took a detour to Monument Valley?

You are a person of varied taste with experience traveling in areas that require some effort to get to, you do not express an opinion either for or against cities, but you have gone to three of the best, if not three of the easiest. You do not mention spas, cute shops, nightlife, or a compelling need for The Best in food, lodging, and service.
Someone who needed all those things and was anxious about traveling to places with different and perhaps difficult cultures would not, in my opinion, like Monument Valley. You, in my opinion, would. Plus, I assume that you probably have a background that has exposed you to classic American films by people like John Ford, in which Monument Valley is an iconic setting, so you would have both the immediate experience of the landscape and the pleasure of experiencing the landscape in the context of the movies set there.
I don't know enough about the OP to make that determination.

Monument Valley is a place I was interested in seeing. When I saw it I wasn't disappointed, and I have been back there twice since my first visit.
On TripAdvisor, there are 4,826 ratings of Monument Valley: 78% Excellent, 14% Very Good, and the other 6% average or lower.
Most people like the experience.
Canyon de Chelly is a fascinating place not far from Monument Valley.

Definitely worth to wisit ! We' ve already visited once in 2015 but it was a quite one and this year we plan to go back and take a tour down to walley we missed then. It is amazing !
You can go down in valley, which is picturesqe with own car or with organized tour by locals ( with opened truck ). This could be a bit dusty due to terrain conditions but you don't break your own car or the rented one which is not assured to such roads.
So I do recommend !

I agree that it is definitely worth a visit, as is Canyon de Chelly.
Give yourself enough time in MV for the permitted unguided hike and a drive among the buttes. Or you can take one of the guided tours.
In Canyon de Chelly, a hike down to the White House ruins is very worthwhile.

I can't imagine anyone not liking Monument Valley. What made it even more memorable for us was to stay at Goulding's Lodge and get up at dawn to watch the sun rise over the monuments. Spectacular and one of the most memorable sights of all of travel experiences.
