Montross/Ouray in the rain. Also foliage
Heading through Montross and two nights in Ouray end of next week. Know it's very early to predict weather, but weather underground is listing rain while we're there. Any interesting indoor activities in the area if we are rained in?
Anyone know what foliage conditions may be? Really interested in photography so hoping we get good weather. |
Foliage report:
http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/sanjua...stelprd3854716 www.visitmontrose.com/27/Things-To-Do We enjoyed the museums in Ouray: http://www.ouraycolorado.com/things-...ulture/museums Weather here doesn't mean solid days of rain; rather showers that start and stop. Wear a rain coat and maybe some boots and you can be outdoors. Really try to do Box Canyon Falls; it's pretty special. |
We were down near that area a week ago and the colors were looking great then.
Here are a couple of webcams I found that will give you a peek at that area: http://ouraycam.com http://www.western.edu/about/webcams...e-black-canyon As mentioned just layer well and have a rain jacket handy. |
Now it looks as though thunderstorms are predicted for Thursday/Friday, but hopefully as Deb mentioned it won't last all day
Another question--any suggestions for a good place to eat in Ouray and/or Durango. Not looking for fine dining, just a good local (not greasy spoon) place with good local food. You helped me discover interesting NM food so this is "just up the road a piece." Looking forward to seeing the amazing aspens--a treat for a girl from the east. |
