Monterey/PG/Carmel Lodging for 5 update
Not sure anyone is still looking at my prior post so I starting a new thread with a new find.
Does anybody have thoughts on The Centrella Inn? Just came across it. The customer photos on TripAdvisor look pretty nice and the reviews are mostly very good. I called and prices are cheaper on the phone than online. It looks like it might not be walking distance to restaurants and shops.
Is the quality of Centrella any better than Lovers Point Inn or Victorian Inn?
Also, came across a VRBO house that is a few blocks from Lovers Point Beach. Looks perfect and gets great reviews. Price is a bit higher especially with the cleaning fee which I wasn't expecting. But it might just be worth it the extra $.
Wondering if anyone has tips if we end up with VRBO. Is there a way to check out the place to make sure it's what it is supposed to be? Are there reviews somewhere other than the VRBO site?
Thanks for hanging in there within me!

Oh - no, that was just more for future reference. Sometimes having multiple threads about the same topic confuses matters - it is usually better to just top the original. But
The reason more northern Californians may not have posted to your other thread today is because we've been watching the Giants game. I'm just multi-tasking
YEAH - the Giants won and are on to the NLCS!!!!

Could you please explain what led you to state that Centralla is not within walking distance of restaurants etc?
Are you not aware that it is a block from Lighthouse Ave which is where most of the restaurants and shops are?
Or did you think that you needed to be near Fisherman's Wharf?

Check this link out. Although I have not stayed at the inns in the Carmel, Pacific Grove area, we have stayed at many of their properties. We find them to be hospitable and very reasonable for the areas. They are very nice and well managed.

I prefer the small less tourist town of Pacific Grove over Carmel or Monterey.

zinfanatic, thank you! The Coachman's Inn (four sisters) looks lovely. We are almost sure we will take the cottage in PG. I will definitely consider the Coachman. Looks like a great location.
