Monterey Bay Whale Watching Day Trip

Hi. I am looking for recommendations for whale watching day trips out of Monterey Bay in late February. Thank you.

I've gone out with both Princess Monterey and Monterey Bay Whale Watch out of Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey and both were fine. That time of year has migrating gray whales but the weather can be iffy.

Princess Monterey Cruises is really good.

Has anyone had any experience with Sanctuary Cruises out of Moss Landing?

Sanctuary Cruises is good too. I haven't been on a whale watching tour with them myself, but they have a very good reputation and just about everyone I have talked with who has been on one of their cruises was happy with it.

The cruises out of Monterey and Moss Landing go to the same waters - the boat captains communicate with each other to let everybody know where whales have been spotted, and then the boats all head that way.

And Phil’s Fish Market is at Moss Landing for a nice lunch.
