Montana in March
My family and I will be driving from Seattle to Montana this March. We have 16 days to explore. Trying to figure out what's open and what's snowed in. We enjoy outdoor activities, museums and photography. Any ideas? This is our first time in Montana.

You can probably get in some late season skiing.

Depending on the weather you might still be able to get a snow buggy ride into Yellowstone.
The going to the Sun road through Glacier won't be open until sometime in June.

Yellowstone is gorgeous in winter and the road from the north entrance near Gardiner to northeast entrance near Cooke City is plowed year round. This route goes through Lamar Valley which is excellent for wildlife. Snow coaches may still be operating in March to access other parts of the park. We combined our Yellowstone stay with some skiing, snow shoeing and dog sledding at Big Sky.
