Mom and 26 yo daughter travelling to Orlando.

My 26 year old daughter and I are planning a trip to Orlando in May. She wants to do at least 1 day in the Magic Kingdom. I'm more inclined to stay at one of the Universal Properties. I've been looking at the Hard Rock. Don't know if we should rent a car. What days are best to go. We are flexible. Any tips? $ saving and otherwise.

There is a lot more to Disney than Magic Kingdom. I would head for Epcot instead - although you need to decide what yuo want.

Suggest you do a lot more detailed research before you decide - which attractions do you both want to see?

If you want to see Universal, stay at least one night in one of their hotels. If you do, you get front of the line privileges. Disney has Fast Pass, but you don't need to stay at one of their resorts to use Fast Pass.

If you stay at one of the Universal hotels you'll also get early entrance to Wizarding World of Harry Potter which is still attracting big crowds and usually has long lines, so that early entrance is valuable.

Also, I'd recommend looking at disboards.com or allears.net. Those folks really know their theme parks.
