Molokai ferry dilemma

I am renting a car from Dollar on Molokai and I need to take the early ferry home so DH can get to work that day. If the ferry leaves at 5:30, Dollar opens at 7 am, and I have to return the car to the airport, what is the best way to get from the airport to the ferry?

I have tried to contact Dollar directly to ask about this, but I can't seem to reach the local office. All numbers point me into a national reservations center. Maybe someone here will know the answer?

I couldn't find Dollar Rent a Car on Molokai. The closest I could find on hawaiiantel.com were for Maui and Lanai:
20 Halawai Dr # C
Lahaina, HI zip code
Phone:  (808) 667-2651

and
1036 Lanai Ave
Lanai City, HI zip code
Phone:  (808) 565-7227

yeah, there is a local number listed in the Paradise Pages, but it just sends me into the same reservation line as the 866 number.

Am hoping someone else has taken the early ferry after returning a car.

I'll try to find my recent rental agreement with Dollar on Molokai. I think though, that when we got a flat tire, I still did not find a direct number on our paperwork.

There is a great local at tripadvisor, halemu? something like that. Offers great advice, so go search them out with your question. I also had a few questions that the folks with the MuleRide helped me with. Might email them. Or call Molokai Times newspaper???

Other than that, on a quick look to find my paperwork, I found www.molokai-outdoors.com. Just a brocure, but they may be helpful to your situation.

Good luck friend.

yeah, forget Tripadvisor. I tried posting over at Ilima's suggestion (halemalu), but all I got was pounced on by the forum police for answering another poster's question. Last time I went over there I was called a liar by another poster because I guestimated some figures and was off by a few percentage points, which he apparently took the time to look up to discredit me. Sheesh they are a tough crowd over there!

ouch!
Never really got involved over there but for my last trip, since so few at fodors have been.

Will try to look up my paperwork tomorrow. Goodluck with your search. Had a silly overdrawn trip report you might want to search for, if you haven't. Could be either boring or funny.

Loved the gift of visiting Kalapupu.

Don't they have taxis on Molokai? There is at least one:

Molokai Off Road Tours and Taxi
(808) 553-3369

We reserved our car at MKK airport over internet and were met by the complimentary shuttle that on our return trip to Maui took us from the airport to ferry dock at 3PM. Don't know if the shuttle is available early in the AM from airport to ferry.
:?
The following Dollar shuttle info. was obtained from www.expedia.com :

HARBOR OR PIER PICK UPS.. 9AM PICKUP
RETURN AT 330PM
CUSTOMER MUST BE AT THE LOC BY 3PM TO CATCH SHUTTLE
DISTANCE TO VEHICLE-
APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET FROM AIRPORT COUNTER.
