mohican sun or foxwood??
Looking to spend a weekend at one or the other. Which has better gambling. Rooms have to be great in both I think. Spent time in AC and on a sunday you could find any action you wanted. $10.00 Blackjack minimums. What about in Ct?
I've only been to Foxwoods, and that was a few years back. At that time, there were no hotels at Mohegan Sun, so the choice was simple. I believe that's no longer the case. The rooms at Foxwoods were very nice. I remember really liking the bathrooms. Lots of dining options. My understanding is that it's a larger facility than MS, so you may want to take that into consideration, depending on your preference. I'm sure you'll have a great time whichever place you choose.

Weekends are busier in CT - lots of day trippers. If you want to make sure you get what you want, reserve a time at a table. Particularly as most casino space is taken by slots in CT, go with Foxwoods that has more choices of casinos.

"MOHEGAN" not Mohican
I preferred Mohegan Sun myself, although I did not stay overnight. Mohegan Sun was very large, with two separate casino areas. For some reason I liked the atmosphere better there. Maybe Foxwoods is a little bigger, but both are enormous. Another thing to note is that they are very close together. If you have a car, you could easily drive to the other (10-15 minutes I think).
Mohegan Sun! No contest, much classier environment. Top flight shopping and restaurants, overall a much better experience. Foxwood looks like a big shopping mall. They are close to each other so you can check out Foxwood, but stay at Mohegan.
Was at both (but stayed at neither) over Columbus Day- I'd pick Mohegan for the same reasons listed above- Mohegan was much more impressive overall, IMHO.

Getting on a $10 BJ table on the weekend will be tough. $25 will be the norm and the few $10 tables are usually flooded. I like AC much better for the gambling - lower minimums, better rules.
I agree with Mike. Finding a free spot at any table on the weekend will be very difficult, finding anything lower than a $25 minimum will be nearly impossible. CT casinos are much more crowded than the AC counterparts and thus the gaming rules are worse: "tighter" slots, more decks in Blackjack, higher minimums, etc.

I'd also recommend MS over Foxwoods. Rooms are expensive and I've never stayed there.
I've been to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun about 5 times combined, all on weekends during the day. Each time I was able to find $10 blackjack tables. There are usually one or two around.
I usually go to both. I stay at Foxwoods overnight as I get good rates, coupons and etc. Mohegan is only about 8 miles from there. They recently added a new area and it is beautiful but the rooms are still around $100 per person, better food but I find it confusing before and after the added on.
I like Foxwoods and usually go duri;ng the week.

Foxwoods is a dump. You won't get onto a machine, you can't win at the tables, and the food is HORRIBLE. Mohegan Sun is much nicer.
I live here and will only go to MOHEGAN sun.The other post is right foxwoods is a dump!I hope you listen and go to mohegan sun!!!!!!!!
