Mohegan Sun CT - Nearby Hotels

Good morning!

My mom wants to organize a last minute Saturday/Sunday overnight trip to Mohegan Sun in CT in June. While it would be ideal to stay at the hotel, availability looks limited to sold out. Would anyone be able to recommend a near-by hotel or motel? Budget is fairly open (but around $200-$250/night would be ideal), the closer the better! Thanks

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Cristata last year (there were no rooms available at Mohegan). We really thought it was great. Rooms are little suites (sep. couch / living area, microwave, refrigerator, indoor pool, decent continental breakfast and free limo service to drive you to and from Mohegan). Mohegan was probably a five minute drive. We would stay again. Got a great rate (I think about $80 on Expedia). Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion! The BW looks perfect...unfortunately they are sold out too! I'm going to look at Expedia and gather a list of dates that they do have availablity...guess we'll have to be flexbile...wonder why everything is so booked...just the time of year I'm assuming...

There are a limited number of hotels/motels in that area given the number of out of town visitors to the casinos (Foxwoods and Mohegan). Many of the hotels have a two-night minimum stay requirement on the weekends and the rates are higher on the weekends than during the week. June is also moving into summer and likely to be peak season there.

Me again. I have also stayed at the Mystic Marriot. Not as close as the Best Western, but a nice hotel, really good breakfast, GREAT spa (Red Door), and there is also a shuttle bus to Mohegan (takes about 15 minutes if I remember correctly); there is a fee for the bus but you are given coupons for the casino, so it works out to be free.
Good luck finding a place!
