Moderately Priced Palm Springs Hotels?

We want to take a quick trip to Palm Springs for a few days to get some sun. Any suggestions on higher quality moderately priced hotels for a married 30 something couple? Something in the $150 a night area would be perfect.

Also what's your favorite site for finding last minute Palm Springs hotel deals?

Thanks!

Mike

Go to biddingfortravel.com and read up on the Palm Beach area. People have been getting top hotels for a song on priceline.

While x may be right, he'd have you traveling to FL. Here's one suggestion, there is a very clear Super 8 on Palm Canyon Drive, with a decent pool that we stay at ofetn when in town. If the chain name scares you away, you can always try the Wyndam.

Oops! Thanks Dr. Head. I meant to write Palm Springs.

If you are all adventurous, there are some very nice clothing optional hotels.

The Best Western Las Brisas is pretty close to downtown. It is a great bargain. We went in October and paid $79. Pretty basic hotel, but the atmposphere is excellent, and the service is good. The winter rates are probably a little higher. The pool and spa are marginal.

If you are a nonsmoker, I highly recommend the new Caliente Tropics on East Palm Canyon. It's newly renovated and the rooms are beautiful. The guys who run it used to run boutique hotels in San Francisco.

Mike,

Big ups to you. But, isn't that the place where guests have tendancy to disappear from time to time? The little girl back in '98, the mother of 2 in '00, and the Uzbeki twins last year. Am I missing anyone else? Help me out here folks. Mike has booked "The Shining in the Desert".

Mike congrats! You will absolutely love that hotel! I stayed there in April and it is beautiful!

I have no idea what Pappy is talking about.

We stayed at the Estrella Inn in November. Very nice. I think we paid around $165. Check out their web site. There might be a small discount.

Pappy, I think you need to lay off the wacky tabacceeeyyy. Lol.

Wyndham should be within your budget. Excellent hotel, great location, near downtown, casino 2 blocks away.

GoTravel Mar 11th, 2003 12:55 PM

kelly, the original poster already booked the Marriott on priceline for $60. It is the 9th post down from the top. They went January 26th-29th but thanks for the Wyndham tip!
