Moab to I-70E

We will be visiting Moab May 24 on a driving trip. We will be coming from Vegas and taking US 191 down to Moab.

In checking routes to get back on I-70 heading East, it appears, it would be an hour less driving "time" if we went back north on US 191 instead of taking Ut 128/US 6 east to I-70.
Is the scenery along Ut 128 worth the hour of additional driving time or should we stick with US 191?
Thanks

Driving Rte. 128 to Cisco is one of the reasons to go to Moab. It is a beautiful drive following the Colorado River past Fisher Towers and other wonderful red rock sights. Don't miss it!

I fully agree with the previous poster. Hiway 128 is worth a visit on its own merits.

I agree that scenic Hwy 128 is well worth an hours time. Here's some information: http://www.milebymile.com/main/Unite...el_guides.html

191 is pretty uninteresting. 128 takes a bit longer, but remember it also dumps you onto I-70 20-30 miles east of where 191 does. I don't think it's a full hour of extra driving when you factor that in.

This is why I appreciate Fodor,s and contributors like you. Ut 128 appears to be a gem and I would have hated to have missed it just to save a little time. The web site from utahtea is much appreciated and the information will be very useful.
Thanks all.
