Moab lodging and trip plans to Mesa Verde

Staying 2 nights in Moab arriving from Grand Junction in June with 2 teenagers. I am looking at Castillo Delos Rocas on the golf course (looks nice and new ) $175 a night or Inn Tower(older but in town a block from Main St) and cheaper at $120.00. Has anyone stayed at either place? How much farther of a drive is it from the South End of town to Arches? We plan on eating in both nights. We might want to go to a bar for a drink at night. How far is the swimming hole from town and in what direction? We will leave for Moab on tuesday and plan on swimming and maybe driving to Needles to take a peak and short hike, if we have time. We don't plan on being in Mesa Verde until late but before sunset.

How should we maximize our time in the Arches. We should arrive there by lunch on Sunday. We have 1 1/2 full days. On the tuesday we are leaving Moab. I will go by myself watch the sunrise and go back to meet the family for breakfast and leave for Mesa Verde.
Thanks

I find only one review of Castillo Delos Rocas on TripAdvisor, but it is favorable.

We stayed at a popular Best Western in downtown Moab and were not at all happy with it or the dining options.

I don't find a motel named Inn Tower in Moab.

Had I known of the codo option, that is where we would have stayed.

The Inn Tower is a Garden apartment that share hot tub with four other units and washer and dryer

When I was in Moab, it was overrun with tourists and the hotel keepers and restaurant workers I ran into were a cynical lot who had seen too many travelers.

The next time I'm in Moab, I'll stay downtown if I want hustle and bustle, and I'll stay out of town if I want to enjoy the glorious landscape. I'll probably want the latter. But that's just me.

"We might want to go to a bar for a drink at night." Unless the liquor laws have changed that might not be possible. Two years ago, my husband & I dropped into a Mexican restaurant in Moab for a margarita and chips & salsa. We were told that it is against the law to just order alcohol. We left since we did not feel like eating another meal. I think we went to the State Liquor Store and bought a four-pack of margaritas.

We stayed at the Canyonlands Best Western. No complaints from my family.

www.deserthighlights.com in Moab is my all time favorite adventure. You or especially your teens might like to try canyoneering with them. You might want to try 4 wheel drive tour with Moab Adventure Center, but they are pretty scary.
