Had to open to make sure "the 3 stooges" are not being commented on here.

I don't know about the one in Newport, but the Mo's in Lincoln City in an interesting area. Charm? I wouldn't use that word to describe Mo's. Hectic, informal and busy are the words that come to mind. And, oh yes, the chowder is very good!

PS: And, get some salt water taffy while you're there!

Mo's definitely has its own character! I agree that charm is not a word I would use, but I do enjoy the place. The Newport annex is my favorite spot since you can sit and look out literally over the water.

Faina--LOL! Be careful of what you ask for

Isn't the Newport annex near the original Mo's? Or even attached to it? Whichever, I like it the best because I think it retains at least some of the character (notice I didn't say charm) that the founder created when she first opened the restaurant. The ones in Lincoln City and Cannon Beach, except for the signs, could easily be mistaken for any lower end restaurant chain. But both have some really great views.

In Newport, Georgie's has the usual fare at reasonable prices, and an ocean view.

The Mo's in Cannon Beach has a great oceanside location.

We just dined at the Mo's in Cannon Beach last night. We had a great table by the window. Place was FULL, about a twenty minute wait. We had a tureen of clam chowder (took some home for lunch for the next day) and I had the blackened salmon which was great! The small shrimp salad that comes with the dinners are fresh and yummy! Marionberry cobbler for dessert. A very nice casual meal with gorgeous views of Haystack Rock while we dined!

We'll be checking out La Fiesta soon after our meal at the Nahalem River Inn. Happy, have you been to La Fiesta? Looks nice inside and menu looks good! ***kim***

The Original Mo's is in Newport. In my opinion it the only one with character. It is the same as when I first started eating there thirty eight years ago. The same tables with the little crabs and shells sealed in the top. The other Mo's location seem new and without the soul of the Original Mo's.

Thirty-eight years ago I was eating at Ben Paris and the Dinner Bell in Seattle, not the Mo's in Newport, so I much prefer the Mo's in Cannon Beach with its big windows and oceanfront location.

I was, though, struck by the soul emanating from the weathered walls of the Olympic Club in Centralia--a delightful surprise along with the Edgefield in Troutdale.
